HISTORY AND STAFF

Dublin Optical Company has been an integral part of Dublin Eye Associates since its initiation in 1976. Toombs Optical was added when our branch office was established in Vidalia in 1987, and still operates as a subsidiary of Dublin Optical Company. Four certified opticians with decades of experience staff and maintain these optical outlets, providing patients with the latest in fashion eyewear, as well as hands-on fitting of contact lenses under the supervision of our eye physicians. Robin Warnock is the lead optician, and had extensive experience prior to coming to Dublin Optical fifteen years ago. Sheryl Morris has been at Dublin Optical almost as long, and is highly experienced. Gail Rogers is a more recent addition to our highly competent staff. Pam Richardson works the Vidalia office as both optician and secretary. As with every aspect of this practice, the interests of the patient always come first. All services are fully guaranteed and our optical staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy for the customer to talk with and understand. If any difficulty or challenge is encountered in meeting the needs of the patient, the optical staff has full access to any of our physicians for consultation and advice.

 

MODERN EQUIPMENT

Lenses for all our glasses are cut on the premises of Dublin Optical Company from blanks, each one custom edged in our modern laboratory to fit the frames chosen by the patient. This personal attention to each pair of glasses produced for our patients is a major difference between us and the competition, which almost invariably must order the whole pair of glasses from a laboratory instead of making them on site. Quality control is assured when our opticians custom-create every pair of glasses sold.

 

GLASSES REPAIR

If we made your glasses, most repairs are free or available for a nominal charge, depending on the extent of repair needed. Even if you got glasses elsewhere, our opticians are more than happy to do courtesy adjustments of your glasses when you are examined by one of our doctors. Drop-ins for glasses repair and adjustment are welcome, and our policy is to keep the cost of this service as reasonable as possible, no matter where you purchased your lenses and frames.

 

CONTACT LENSES

Our opticians have fitted thousands of satisfied contact lens wearers over the years, drawing on their vast experience and the advice and oversight of our physicians. When you get contact lenses from Dublin Optical or Toombs Optical, fitting comes with adequate training in the care and cleaning of your lenses. An eye examination and approval for fitting by one of our physicians is mandatory before our opticians will begin the process of actually trying a patient in contact lenses. When an appropriate fit is in place, training in contact lens insertion and removal, proper hygiene, and all other aspects of successful contact lens wear are begun.
