MISSION
Dublin Eye Surgery Center is dedicated to the provision of quality, necessary, and cost-effective surgery for all patients who come to our facility. This calling is higher than serving mere man, however; we are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we unashamedly serve Him with every procedure we perform. Our hope and our every effort is dedicated to being available when needed; to being accessible to all; to surpassing expectations in surgical outcomes; to exercising compassion toward all patients; to putting our patients’ interests before our own; to providing a friendly, non-threatening atmosphere for our patients; to functioning as an efficient, time-saving team; to adhering to the highest ethical and professional standards; and to striving to continually improve our skills while keeping up with the latest in eye surgery techniques and technology, to the ultimate benefit of our patients and the service of our Lord.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Surgeons of Dublin Eye Associates and our branch office, Vidalia Eye Associates, have performed over forty thousand eye operations since 1976, when the practice was started. Our surgeons are all board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, all are highly experienced, and most have advanced training in a subspecialty discipline. Our most common procedure is phacoemulsification of cataract (removal of a clouded natural lens by ultrasound) and implantation of a new artificial lens. This surgery is usually done under topical (eye drop or eye ointment) anesthesia, seldom requires suturing, and the patient most often goes home without an eye patch and frequently is already seeing better on the way home.
Other common procedures in Dublin Eye Surgery Center include glaucoma filtering procedures; valve implants for control of glaucoma; corneal transplants (including the most modern variety, the very non-invasive endothelial cell transplant for appropriate cases); eyelid surgery for malpositioned eyelids; removal of excessive, vision-obscuring skin from the upper lids (blepharoplasty); implantation of permanent contact lenses (ICL, or intraocular contact lenses); and removal of various growths from the eyes or eyelids.
While we never administer general anesthesia at Dublin Eye Surgery Center, for the patient’s safety and comfort a board-certified physician anesthesiologist personally attends every patient during surgery. This highly-trained doctor can administer intravenous drugs as necessary to maintain the patient’s well-being and comfort. He constantly monitors the patient’s EKG, respirations, oxygen saturation, and blood pressure, among other parameters, to ensure safety during eye surgery.
